Squad swimmer training freestyle

Squads

Our squad program introduces children to swimming in larger groups & builds upon the techniques learned in previous levels.

Benefits of squads:

  • Students individual stroke technique is further developed.
  • Strength & endurance are further promoted and developed.
  • Fitness and friendships.

Junior Squads Level 1-2

30-45 minute classes working on all four strokes with an emphasis on technique, swim fitness, water safety, rescue skills and school swimming carnival preparation. Although these are our mini squads we understand that kids this age still need to have fun so we always include some games and fun at the end of lessons.

At these levels the kids are introduced to working with fins, pull buoys and learning to read the time clock , mock racing & relays. Our annual safety week also incorporates Bronze Medalion swim assesment skills appropriate to their age and level.

At KSS AQUATICS, we assess student 3 times per term and all teachers have comprehensive notes on each student during lessons. These sessions work to achieve good skill progression and maximum enjoyment.

All squad training is held at the Wooloowin State School pool venue
